MINUTES
OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
August
19, 2009
The
regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Northwest Mosquito Abatement
District was held Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 7:30 pm.
There
being a presence of a quorum, Arnold D. Kincaid, President called the meeting
to order.
Trustees
present: Arnold D. Kincaid,
President; Daniel R. Ansani, Vice
President and Assistant Secretary; Richard A. David, Secretary and Assistant
Treasurer; William Schneck, Treasurer; Karen V. Mills, Vice President and
Assistant Secretary/Treasurer.
Also
present: Donald Veverka, Attorney;
Michael Szyska, Director.
The
minutes of the July 2009 meeting were read. Daniel R. Ansani made a motion to accept
the minutes as read and William Schneck seconded the motion.
The
Secretary called the roll and all ayes had been cast for approval of the motion
and thereby declared the motion carried.
The
Treasurer's Report for July 2009 was presented and all checks were approved for
payment. Richard A. David made a motion
to accept the report as read and Karen V. Mills seconded the motion.

Mr.
Veverka mentioned that the County will be sending the final tax edit report to
the District office. He has received the
paperwork for the Treasurers Statement and the Treasurer will sign the Treasurers
Statement at the October Board meeting.
The fiscal year-end audit needs to be published in the newspaper by the
end of October. In October the Board
needs to review the Executive Session minutes.
Mr.
Veverka sent the Board members a draft of a revised Freedom Of Information
policy. After discussion Daniel R.
Ansani made a motion to adopt the Freedom of Information policy. Richard A. David seconded the motion.
The
Secretary called the roll and all ayes had been cast for approval of the motion
and thereby declared the motion carried.
Mr.
Szyska updated the Board on District operations. Twenty-seven batches of mosquitoes have
tested positive for WNV in the District.
As usual mostly on the east side of the District. The District has targeted those areas for
adulticiding.
Mr.
Szyska updated the Board on some damage to District vehicles.
The
District has made some repairs to the Wheeling gasoline tank and will be doing
some to the Bartlett facility soon.
There
being no further business to come before the Board a motion was made to adjourn
and it passed unanimously.
